NRB urges people to submit National IDs for corrections

The National Registration Bureau (NRB) has asked all citizens who have problems with their National Identity Cards to go to its branches at nearby district offices for corrections.

Spokesperson for the Bureau Norman Fulatila said it has been noted that some IDs have wrong information like misspelled names and wrong date of births.

“People must go our offices and they will be requested to fill a form which will make the necessary information to be corrected.”

Fulatila further explained that the corrections are for free as long as the mistake was made by NRB.

He said people who have lost their identity cards can pay for another one for a fee of K2, 500 at the District Registration Offices which are situated at district education offices.

Fulatira added that the printing process for the IDs takes a month from the time of payment.

Fulatila said people should cast away worries of the IDs taking long to be given to them as the bureau has 10 Printers for the national Identity cards in Lilongwe and this will make the job easier.
