Central Region Immigration offices closed for disinfection

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has closed its central region offices for three days to pave way for disinfection due to the alarming high number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

Speaking to YFM, Regional Immigration Spokesperson Ealack Banda said the offices will be closed from February 1 to February 3.

“The department works with people and foreign nationals who have travelled from different countries coming to the office to process their papers hence the disinfection.”

Banda said with the nature of the office, all its officers will also be tested of Covid-19.

“During the said period all officers will also be tested, so as to create a safe environment for working for both officers and clients,” he said.

Banda has since asked all those that would want to access services at the department within the mentioned days to visit Mzuzu, Blantyre or Mangochi offices.
