Government asked to support SME’s

A fish production company has appealed to government to bail out small and medium enterprises (SMEs) especially as Covid-19 is continuing to impact negatively on businesses in the country.

Viphya Chambo located in Mzuzu said as one of the SMEs who have been affected by the pandemic, it is having difficulty accessing essential equipment to ply its trade.

Viphya Chambo’s manager Manasseh Mwangonde told YBIZ that government should provide a stimulus to bail out SMEs so they don’t fade out completely as a result of the pandemic.

“Government should provide a cushion to small business especially during this pandemic, there should be proper access to finances to help businesses float during this difficult time,” said Mwangonde.
