Ombudsman moves to address injustices in public hospitals

The Office of the Ombudsman has deployed 463 hospital ombudsmen in health centers across the country in order to help the marginalized access timely justice.

This was disclosed when Vice President Saulos Chilima held a meeting with Ombudsman Grace Malera and her team who shared progress of the reform initiatives that the institution is implementing.

The initiative will lead to the setting up of a door step platform for aiding the marginalized to access timely and quality services to address injustices.

It is further expected that, the initiative will be extended to other equally high service demand areas such as Road Traffic Directorate and the Ministry of Education.
