Member of Parliament for Zomba Malosa Constituency Grace Kwelepeta on Tuesday organized a luncheon for 361 inmates at Domasi Prison.

Speaking during the lucheon, Kwelepeta said she acknowledges the problem of inadequate food supply in the country’s prisons, and she thought it wise to share the little she had with the inmates.

“Being in prison does not mean they are sinners, some of them just failed to present their case well in court and ended up being convicted, they remain our brothers and sisters and we need to treat them as such,” Kwelepeta said.

Officer-In-Charge for Domasi Prison, Suzeni Mande thanked Kwelepeta for the gesture.

Domasi Prison is currently home to 342 male and 19 female inmates, and two under-five twins whose mother is saving a jail sentence.
