The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) plans to award the contract for printing ballot papers and results forms to Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing, a company based in the United Arab Emirates.

MEC Chairperson, Justice Annabel Mtalimanja, made the announcement on Wednesday morning during the ongoing National Elections Consultative Forum (NECOF) meeting in Lilongwe.

Justice Mtalimanja did not disclose the contract’s value but emphasized that the decision follows due procurement processes aimed at ensuring transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
