IIA Malawi donates desks to support education in Mzuzu

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education in the country as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Speaking on the institution’s latest efforts, IIA Malawi President Alick Mwale said the organization is focused on improving the learning environment in schools by prioritizing the welfare of learners.

As part of this initiative, the IIA recently donated desks worth K5 million to Chibavi Secondary School in Mzuzu.

Mwale noted that the donation comes at a critical time, as students prepare for their Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) exams.

“Students cannot perform well if they sit on the floor, especially during national examinations,” said Mwale.

Receiving the donation, Chibavi Secondary School Deputy Headteacher William Mackson Phiri described the gesture as timely and impactful.

He said the desks will help students concentrate better and enhance their overall learning experience.

Doris Tembo, a representative from the Northern Region Education Division, commended IIA Malawi for the support and urged students to take good care of the donated furniture.
