The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has called on public officers and authorities to exercise transparency and integrity in the execution of their duties.
ACB Acting Director General Hillary Chilomba made the appeal on Wednesday during a press briefing ahead of this year’s African Anti-Corruption Day, which will be commemorated on July 11 in Mchinji under the theme: “Deeper Citizenry Engagement in Combating Corruption.”
Chilomba said transparency and integrity are key to combating corruption and promoting good governance in Malawi.
He emphasized that tackling corruption requires the active participation of both public servants and the general public.
Chilomba urged all citizens to report corrupt practices and commit to ethical conduct in order to build a more transparent and accountable Malawi.
