A delegation of 51 reverends under Nkhoma Synod of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) visited former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Tuesday at his residence, Page House, in Mangochi.
The purpose of the visit was to offer prayers and strengthen the relationship between the church and the former head of state, particularly as Malawi prepares for the upcoming elections.
During the meeting, Mutharika expressed his lifelong affiliation with the CCAP and underscored the vital roles that both political and religious leaders play in national development.
“Church leaders and politicians share a similar mission, we all work with the community and desire its growth, both spiritually and politically,” he said.
The pastors echoed the call for peace, unity, and continued collaboration between faith-based institutions and national leadership in guiding the country’s future.
