The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has concluded the first phase of the voter register verification exercise and is set to begin the second phase on May 21, 2025.

Speaking to YFM, MEC Director of Media and Public Relations, Sangwani Mwafulirwa, urged all eligible voters to verify their details early to ensure smooth participation in the upcoming elections.

“It is important for everyone to take this exercise seriously and verify their voter information as early as possible to avoid last-minute complications,” Mwafulirwa said.

The verification process allows voters to confirm the accuracy of their details on the electoral roll and make corrections where necessary.
