The Applied Development Communications and Training Services (Adecots) has encouraged men to accompany expectant women to health facilities for maternal and child care services as a way of reducing preventable deaths.
Programme Manager for Adecots, Victoria Likongwe, said male involvement in maternal and child health care plays a critical role in reducing complications during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as improving the uptake of child vaccinations.
Likongwe made the call after presenting a new project titled Rapid Emergency Response to members of the Zomba District Executive Committee (DEC).
She said the initiative aims to boost the uptake of antenatal and postnatal care services, immunizations, and outpatient care at health facilities across the district.
