CSOs urge swift operationalization of district land tribunals

The Youth Watch Society, in collaboration with the Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC), Centre for Human Rights Education, Advice and Assistance (CHREAA), and the Paralegal Advisory Service Institute (PASI), has called on the government to expedite the operationalization of District Land Tribunals.

In a joint media statement accessed by YFM, the organizations emphasized the urgent need to make the tribunals functional to enhance access to justice in land-related matters at the district level.

The statement also urged the government to ensure fair gender representation within land governance structures at all levels, saying this is key to promoting inclusivity and equitable land administration.
