Zomba DHO, Hope Clinic partner to offer free cervical cancer screenings

By Temwa Tembo

In a bid to enhance healthcare services in Zomba, the Zomba District Health Office (DHO) and Hope Clinic have joined forces to provide routine free cervical cancer screenings.

According to Arnold Mndalira, the Public Relations Officer for Zomba DHO, the collaboration between government and private medical facilities aims to extend services to a wider population.

Mndalira further added that trained nurses have been allocated to facilitate the screenings.

Meanwhile, Hope Clinic is conducting awareness campaigns to inform the public about the availability of free cervical cancer screenings at their facility.

The awareness campaigns involve religious and traditional leaders who are disseminating information to the community in order to increase uptake of the screenings and promote early detection and treatment of cervical cancer.
