Good governance expert Mavuto Bamusi has expressed concern over the government’s delay in appointing a substantive Director General for the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), calling it a clear sign of waning commitment to fighting corruption.
Bamusi’s remarks come as the ACB marks a full year without a permanent head, following the expiry of former Director General Martha Chizuma’s term in 2024.
Speaking to YFM, Bamusi warned that the prolonged leadership vacuum is creating serious operational challenges and gaps that threaten the bureau’s effectiveness and efficiency in combating corruption.
