United Democratic Front (UDF) leader and presidential candidate Atupele Muluzi has urged Malawians not to lose hope despite ongoing socio-economic challenges affecting the nation.
Speaking on Sunday during the Chilundu cultural fundraising event held at Zomba Cathedral, Muluzi emphasized the need for visionary and committed leadership at all levels to steer the country toward its development aspirations.
As part of the event, Muluzi donated K5 million to support the Catholic Women’s Association under the Zomba Diocese, which is seeking to raise K60 million for the purchase of a 40-seater bus to address persistent transportation challenges.
Christina Lakiyoni, Chairperson of the association, said the bus would promote the women’s ministry, facilitate the spread of God’s word, and strengthen hope among Christians across the diocese.
In his remarks, Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima encouraged the faithful to live balanced lives both spiritually and socially anchored in honesty, love, and generosity.
