Usi to stand for presidency

Malawi’s Vice President and President of the Odya Zake Alibe Mlandu party Michael Usi has expressed his commitment to helping uplift the country by promoting accountability and dedication across all sectors.

Speaking to journalists after submitting his presidential nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), Usi lamented that Malawi’s progress is being hindered by individuals who are dissatisfied with the performance of others and interfere in responsibilities that are not theirs.

He argued that such behaviour leads to inefficiencies and disruptions in service delivery.

Usi emphasized that only when every citizen focuses on their own duties without undermining others will the country begin to move forward effectively.

He was quick to clarify that his decision to run for president should not be interpreted as disrespect toward current President Lazarus Chakwera.

Rather, he said, his candidacy reflects his own political convictions and vision as leader of the Odya Zake Alibe Mlandu party.
