Zomba City Council (ZCC) says it is collecting no less than K140,000 per day from special toll points designated for minibus tax collection.
The toll points, located at St Joseph and Old Naisi along the M3 road, were established to curb tax evasion by minibus operators who avoid entering the main depot where standard fees are required.
Council spokesperson Aubrey Moses said the funds collected are used to support essential services such as waste collection, infrastructure development, and staff salaries.
Moses added that the council remains committed to finding effective ways of enhancing revenue collection to support the city’s development.
