The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Director of Religious Affairs for the Central Region Jailosi Bonongwe has called on Malawians to embrace unity and share development ideas that can help transform the country regardless of political or religious affiliation.
Bonongwe made the remarks during the launch of a K2.5 million football and netball trophy in Naming’azi, in Zomba-Malosa constituency.
He emphasized that Malawians are one people and should work together to promote peace and unity, especially as the country approaches the election period.
Speaking at the same event, MCP councillor candidate for the area, Asiyatu Idrissa, said many young people in the country are talented but often fail to succeed due to a lack of support and opportunities.
Idrissa also urged Malawians to re-elect MCP leader and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, saying he has already delivered various development initiatives across the country.
