Residents of Sunuzu in Zomba and Kamwendo in Phalombe have raised concerns over the worsening condition of the Mwanga Bridge, which has severely deteriorated

The bridge connects the tarmac road from Zomba through Jali in Phalombe District to Chitakale in Mulanje District.

Regular users of the road have told YFM that they are deeply worried, especially with the rainy season fast approaching.

“As you can see, the road is eroding from underneath, and the bridge is slowly falling apart. We don’t know what will happen once the rains begin,” said one of the concerned residents.
