The Malawi Police Service has arrested two additional suspects believed to be members of a panga-wielding gang linked to a series of politically motivated violent attacks that occurred during the previous administration.
The suspects have been identified as Lastorn Malizani, 38, from Mangulama Village, Traditional Authority Nkalo in Chiradzulu, and Felix Makenga, 28, from Kainja Village, Traditional Authority Tsabango in Lilongwe.
According to Deputy Police Spokesperson Alfred Chimthere, the two join fifteen others who were earlier apprehended, including the suspected ringleader, Bruno Munlo Makina.
“The earlier fifteen suspects have already appeared in court,” Chimthere said.
