Renowned communication expert Associate Professor Anthony Gunde has cautioned youths against spreading misinformation on social media, warning that the practice can harm reputations.

Speaking to YFM, Gunde said the misuse of social media platforms to share misleading or false information has become a serious concern.

He noted that such actions can have far-reaching consequences for individuals and society at large.

He further emphasized the need for government intervention, urging authorities to take action against people who damage others’ reputations through social media channels.

Gunde also encouraged youths to use social media responsibly and to report cases of cyberbullying and online abuse to the police.
