The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two more people suspected of being involved in corrupt practices linked to the use of funds at the Greenbelt Authority (GBA).
According to a statement signed by ACB Public Relations Officer, Jacqueline Ngongonda, the suspects are Dr. Chisomo Kumbuyo, the Director of Irrigation at the Greenbelt Authority, and Stanley Bakolo, Director of PLMB Engineering Investment.
The two are among several individuals suspected of being involved in the misappropriation of over K36.7 billion, which GBA officials allegedly paid to PLMB Engineering Investment without following proper procurement procedures.
Their arrest brings the total number of suspects arrested in connection with the case to eight.
