The National Registration Bureau (NRB) has announced that it will commence the first phase of birth registration from 26 January to 4 February 2026.

The bureau says the exercise will be conducted in primary schools across the districts of Blantyre, Likoma, Dedza, Machinga and Chitipa.

NRB has urged parents and guardians to ensure that all children below the age of 16 are registered during the exercise.

The bureau has further clarified that parents or guardians may attend the registration centres on their own, provided they carry their national identity cards.
