A six-year-old Standard One learner at Bebvu Primary School, Tania Kauwa, has died after being hit by a freightliner vehicle at Kampepuza Trading Centre in Ntcheu District.

Confirming the incident, Beatrice Mlauze, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, said the accident occurred when the deceased was crossing the road on her way to school.

Mlauze said Kauwa sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Nsipe Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

The girl hailed from Kambidzi Village under Traditional Authority Kwataine in Ntcheu District.

Police have since launched investigations into the accident.
