The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested five more individuals in connection with alleged corruption, abuse of office and money laundering linked to investigations involving the Greenbelt Authority.
According to a press statement signed by Jacqueline Ngongonda, ACB Senior Public Relations Officer, the arrests were carried out on 17 and 18 February 2026 as part of ongoing investigations into the matter.
The suspects have been identified as Loyce Chilimsungwi, former Budget Director at the Ministry of Finance; Joseph Banda, a part-time worker at SDK Engineering; Mphatso Mtonza, an intern at SDK Engineering; Allan Chapweteka of Achapwe General Dealers; and Kondwani Mdoko, Managing Director of Bitrate Media.
The Bureau said all the suspects have already appeared before court and were granted bail under various conditions, except for Mdoko whose bail ruling has been reserved for 20 February 2026.
The latest arrests bring the total number of suspects in the case to 16.
