The Ministry of Health and Sanitation says it has successfully completed a nationwide polio vaccination campaign targeting children under the age of 10.
According to a statement signed by Secretary for Health and Sanitation, Dr Dan Namarika, the campaign was conducted from March 24 to 27, 2026.
Dr Namarika says a total of 6,223,422 children were vaccinated during the exercise, representing 103 percent coverage of the target population.
He further indicated that of the children vaccinated, 48 percent were male while 52 percent were female.
The Ministry has since described the campaign as a success, highlighting it as a significant step towards protecting children from polio and strengthening public health efforts in Malawi.
