Epay targets rural communities with digital financial services

A local mobile money transaction company, Epay Mobile Money, has expressed its commitment to expanding electronic financial services to rural communities as part of efforts to bridge the gap between underserved populations and access to modern financial solutions.

Speaking to YFM Online, the company’s sales representative, Patrick Amos Phiri, said the company aims to reach areas where access to conventional banking services remains limited or unavailable.

Phiri said many people in remote communities still struggle to access reliable financial services, adding that expanding mobile money services to rural areas would make it easier for people to send and receive money, save funds, and conduct business transactions without traveling long distances in search of banking facilities.

He said promoting electronic money transactions in rural communities has the potential to improve financial inclusion, boost small-scale businesses, and encourage more people to embrace digital financial systems, which are increasingly becoming important in today’s economy.

Epay Mobile Money, which offers secure and convenient financial transaction services, is among exhibitors participating in this year’s International Trade Fair, officially launched today at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre.
