The Federation of Civil Service Unions (FOCSU), a newly formed civil servants’ federation, has accused authorities of deliberately delaying its registration, saying the process is taking longer than expected.

FOCSU, which brings together seven public sector unions and associations, says the prolonged delay is preventing the federation from effectively representing civil servants on issues affecting their welfare.

Speaking to YFM, FOCSU Vice Secretary Azeez Losa said it is unreasonable for the federation’s registration to remain pending months after all the necessary procedures were initiated.

Losa alleged that the delay appears to be intentional and aimed at preventing the federation from becoming fully operational.

He has called on the authorities to expedite the registration process to allow FOCSU to begin representing the interests of civil servants.
