Malawi Coalition for Kabaza and Motorcycle Association (MACOKASA) has admitted that some motorcycle operators in the country are being used by unscrupulous traders to transport banned thin plastic bags in exchange for money.

Speaking to YFM, MACOKASA Chairperson Moses Mwalabu said the operators are aware that the use and transportation of the plastics is prohibited, but some are lured by financial incentives offered by traders.

Mwalabu said MACOKASA is, however, ready to work with the Malawi Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) to help curb the malpractice.

He has urged motorcycle operators to desist from transporting banned plastic bags and comply with environmental regulations.
