Northern Region Water Board (NRWB) has announced an upward adjustment of water tariffs, effective August 7, 2026, following approval and gazetting by the government.

According to a statement and tariff schedule accessed by YFM, customers at kiosks or communal water points will now pay 94 tambala per litre, while domestic customers will pay K2.85 per litre.

Institutions will be charged K7.10 per litre, while commercial customers will pay K9.40 per litre.

The Board said the tariff adjustment has been necessitated by rising costs associated with the production and supply of water, including energy, water treatment chemicals, maintenance materials and other operational inputs.

NRWB said the new tariffs are intended to help sustain water supply services and ensure the continued operation and maintenance of its infrastructure.
