Chikwawa district has been hit by cholera outbreak.

This has been confirmed by the Ministry of Health (MoH).

The areas hard hit by the outbreak include Nchalo and around Chikwawa boma.

Addressing various district stakeholders who included World Health Organisation, local non-governmental organisations and community leaders; the District Health Officer (DHO) for Chikwawa, Dr. Ambre Majibu appealed for conceited efforts to contain the outbreak.

Chikwawa and Nsanje districts are Malaria and Cholera prone areas.
