Zomba DHO in TB fight

The Zomba District Health Office says it is optimistic of reaching all the people in the district with Tuberculosis Mobile Van Clinic as a way of detecting the disease at its earliest stage for easy treatment.

District Health Officer for Zomba, Raphael Pilingu said this in an interview with YFM ahead of the launch of the TB Mobile Van Clinic slated for Monday, March 26, 2018.

“TB is treatable once detected earlier and it’s even encouraged that people should come in their large numbers to get tested because just like any other disease, you may have TB without knowing,” Pilingu said.

According to Pilingu, the work will firstly start at Matawale Health Center.

The Government of Malawi, with financial support from Global Fund procured the TB mobile van to be used in some districts of the country.
