Tabitha scores first goal in Chinese League

Malawi women’s football star Tabitha Chawinga scored her first goal for Chinese side Jiangsu Suning as they beat Shangai SVT 1-0 in the Chinese Women League.

This was her first full match after she played for 55 minutes only last week when her team lost 2-1 to Wuhan.

Jiangsu are fourth on the log table with three points after two round of matches.

Chawinga joined the Chinese team from Swedish side Kvarnsveden soon after being named Swedish Women Football best forward of 2017.

The Malawian netted 26 goals in 23 appearances in all competitions at the end of the 2016-17 season, but her individual brilliance failed to see her side escape relegation from the Damallsvenskan.

Born in Rumphi,Tabitha started playing football at five years old and played with boys until she turned 13, when she joined DD Sunshine.
