Southern region farmers run out of maize

Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) says theĀ volumes of maize procured in the southern region have declined.

The corporationā€™s spokesperson Agness Ndovie made the revelation in an interview with YONECO FM Online saying, farmers in the region have run out of the commodity.

“We have noticed that southern region maize volumes have declined, but the case is different in the central and northern regions as volumes are high.”

Nevertheless the corporation has so far bought 11,632 metric tons of maize from farmers.

ADMARC is buying maize from farmers at the approved government price of K170 per kilogram.
