Unidentified man has died after being hit by a motorcycle in Nkhotakota, police said on Friday.

The accident occurred on the night of January 03, 2018 along Salima-Nkhotakota M5 road.

The motorcycle was being ridden by Kalikokha Meja, 46, of Makuta village Traditional Authority Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota.

Nkhotakota police station deputy spokesperson, Paul Malimwe, said the victim was hit at Chisoti primary school after he suddenly entered the main road.

Due to the impact, the deceased sustained severe head injuries and was taken to Nkhotakota District Hospital where he died whilst receiving treatment.

The ridder and two pillion passengers, sustained minor injuries and were treated as out patients.
