Nomads, Masters seek to turn tables in Airtel Top 8

The battle for supremacy in the 2019 Airtel Top 8 trophy continues on Tuesday, May 14 with two quarter-final return matches in Lilongwe and Dedza.

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers have travelled to the central region where they are seeking to turn the tables as they face Silver Strikers at the banker’s own backyard.

During the first leg match, Be Forward Wanderers failed to utilize a home ground advantage when they went down 1-0 to the Bankers at Kamuzu Stadium.

Another game, which is slated at Dedza Stadium, Masters Security welcomes Kamuzu Barracks.

The first leg match between the two sides, played at Dedza stadium, it ended 2-1 in Favour of Kamuzu Barracks.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM), Commercial and Marketing Director, Limbani Matola said all is set for both games.

Matola said: “We expect entertaining games at both venues as you know at this stage any team which carries the day will automatically proceed into semi-final stage of the trophy so people should not miss these games.”

He further said both venues will attract an entry fee of K2000 in opens stands and K5000 covered stands and the tickets will be sold at the gates.

Meanwhile, Mzuni and Karonga United football clubs have already qualified into the semifinal stage after the former ousted Civil Sporting club while the later defeated TN Stars.

Both teams made it into the semifinal stage through an away goal rule advantage.
