Anti-quota movement threatens to hold vigils

Speaking to YFM after delivering the petition chairperson for the Movement Dr Bina Shaba said they are however worried that government is not responding to their concerns.

Meanwhile the Movement has given government a 14-day ultimatum to respond to their petition and failing which the movement will hold vigils at Mzuzu Government Secondary School.

“My message to government is they must answer our demands as per our petition. The demands are very simple, they are doable and they need to do what is needed for this country to bring sanity in education sector,” Shaba said.

Speaking after receiving the petition, Education Division Manager for Mzimba North Mzondi Moyo said the petition will be delivered to government as soon as possible.

The grouping has been demanding the nullification of the 2019 Standard Eight examination results claiming that government used quota system in selecting students to public secondary schools.
