Timely boost for Wanderers ahead of Civil clash

Be Forward Wanderers FC assistant coach Oscar Kaunda has said the return from injury of midfielder Francis Nkonda and striker Vincent Nyangulu is a big boost to the strength of the squad.

Wanderers will be meeting Civil Sporting on Saturday, 19 October at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre in the second round TNM Super League match.

Kaunda said the duo will bring competition among players thereby giving the technical team options when selecting their first team on the day of the game.

“We have no injuries now and this is good for a team that is fighting for the title,” he said.

Nyangulu suffered a knee injury which has kept him out of action for eight weeks while Nkonda was involved in a car accident. Both players have since returned to training after being certified fit by the team doctor and will be available for selection this weekend.

The Nomads, as they are fondly called, are at the summit of the league table with 45 points from 21 games played this far. Other title contenders Nyasa Big Bullets are second with 42 points from 20 games.
