FAM impressed with FISD Cup progress

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) says it is impressed with the way FISD Challenge Cup games have progressed so far.

FAM’s director of competitions and the media, Gomezgani Zakazaka, told YFM Online that the competition, which is now in the quarterfinal phase, has progressed well without any trace of violence and hooliganism.

Zakazaka said now that the competition has reached a crucial phase, there is need for stakeholders to ensure that they conduct themselves in a manner that should safeguard the sponsorship.

“As FAM we are impressed with how the competition has run to the quarterfinals stage. We applaud the teams, the supporters and other stakeholders for maintaining discipline and observing the rules and regulations of the game,” he said.

The first quarterfinal match is on Friday, 8 November 2019 when Be Forward Wanderers take on lower-league side Hangover fc at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

On Saturday, all roads will lead to Bingu National Stadium where there is an appetising fixture involving Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets.

Kamuzu Barracks travels to the Northern Region to face Savenda Chitipa United at Mzuzu Stadium. On Sunday, Blue Eagles will date Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium.
