Mbakuwaku intensifies social media campaigns

As different political parties are busy on the ground campaigning ahead of the fresh presidential election, Mbakuwaku Movement for Development – MMD says it has intensified online campaigning.

MMD Presidential Candidate Peter Kuwani, the online campaigning strategy is aimed at reaching out to prospective voters in urban settings.

“Online campaigning is mainly targeting those staying in towns, cities, trading centers who are technologically connected individuals,” said Kuwani.

Kuwani says the party has also set an approach that will see its leaders engaging those in rural areas with campaign messages.

“As for the remotest corner of the nation we have got foot soldiers across the nation, we are engaging those people, we have our own way of reaching out to them with our manifesto,” he said.

Kuwani added that the party is avoiding mass rallies to protect people from catching coronavirus.

“We understand the country has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and we thought it wise that we better have a simple campaign now other than having a glamorous one,” he said.
