Mlakatuli to release multilingual poem

As organizations and individuals continue fighting Coronavirus, artists are leaving no stone unturned as they continue spreading the massage of Covid-19 through songs and poems.

Mzuzu based up and coming Poet, Yona Mlakatuli whose real name is Yona Gondwe is set to release a multilingual poem titled “Corona takana” next week.

In an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana), Mlakatuli said it was pathetic seeing people failing to observe precaution measures set by government through Ministry of Health especially in crowded places like markets.

“The Poem which will be released next week is a replica of what the government is advising it’s people on how to prevent themselves from Covid-19 like washing hands frequently among other things,” he said.

Mlakatuli described his production unique as it consist of different languages.

“The Poem has got different languages such as Chichewa, Yao and Tumbuka so that people of different tribes should be able to grasp the Covid-19 message, an element which is making it different from other artistic works that others have so far come up with pertaining the pandemic,” he said.

The Poem has been produced by Chawa beats of excel music and all the artwork designs have been mastered by Jonathan Ngwira.

The Poem comes after “Mwanakazi nikhuluku uyu” which was released last month.
