Stadium stampede victims dare govt on compensation

Victims and deceased families of the July 6, 2017 Bingu National Stadium stampede have challenged government to declare whether it will compensate them for the loss of their relatives and the injuries that they suffered during the stampede.

One of the victims, Janet Vale, whose 12 year old child has developed psychiatric problems following the incident, said it is a very big insult to the families that government does not show any remorse on their sufferings.

Lawyer representing the victims, Gift Nankhuni told YFM in a separate interview that he will be meeting the Attorney General on the matter soon.

However Government Spokesperson Gospel Kazako asked for more time before he could comment on the matter.
