Chimwemwe Mikwala joined YONECO on 1 January, 2015 as a reporter.

In July 2015, she was promoted to the position of Bureau Chief for the northern region based in Mzuzu.

As a bureau chief, she was responsible for supervising fellow reporters in the bureau and news coverage in all districts of the region.

In October 2019 she came back to the headquarters in Zomba as a Deputy Chief Reporter Responsible for Current Affairs.

She has a Diploma in Journalism obtained in 2011 at Malawi Institute of journalism-MIJ and a degree in Journalism which she obtained from Blantyre International University, in 2019.

Chimwemwe has a passion in health issues especially in regards to children and women.
