Ntchisi chiefs commend police for reducing crime

Chiefs in Ntchisi district have applauded Ntchisi Police Station for its efforts in reducing crime in 2018.

Traditional Authority Kalumo said Ntchisi Police Station should be commended for its effort in reducing crime in the central region taking into account that the station was also voted number one in the past two years.

“As chiefs, we appreciate the work done by police officers in Ntchisi through the good leadership with the Officer in Charge. We will continue supporting the police in an effort to reduce crimes so that our district should be crime free,” said Kalumo.

In his remarks, Officer In Charge for Ntchisi Police Station Deputy Commissioner Edward Chingaipe said the trophy received by the station had come due to the efforts of both police and the community at large in fighting crime.

“Ntchisi Police Station could not have managed to grab this trophy alone but this has been achieved with the good leadership between us and the community and we also commend the community on this achievement,” said Chingaipe.

Commissioner of Police for Central Region, Evalista Chisale said Ntchisi Police Station was voted number one after the region considered a number of factors in terms of crime reduction.

“I would like to thank the community of Ntchisi for working hand in hand with police in reducing crime and I am humbled today to present this trophy to the community of Ntchisi and this is part of our appreciation.

“Another good news is that we have never received any report of albinos being attacked in Ntchisi and this signifies that there is good leadership between police and the general public. As police, we will continue to make sure that people with albinism are being protected every time,” said Chisale.

The ceremony was organised with the aim of showing the trophy and certificate of achievement to the community of Ntchisi as Ntchisi Police Station scooped number one amongst all the station in the central region.
