Malawi Union of the Blind (MUB) has applauded government for ratifying the Marrakesh treaty which among other things will help visually impaired people to access information.
Speaking to YFM Online Executive Director for the Union Ezekiel Kumwenda said they are happy with the development though it took time for government to ratify the treaty.
“We are proud to say that government has finally ratified the Marrakesh treaty, for every long time we have been advocating government to ratify this treaty,” said Kumwenda.
The ratification of the treaty comes four years later, since government adopted the treaty on 23 June 2013 in Marrakesh Morocco.
