Two nabbed for selling Indian hemp

Police in Mchinji on Tuesday arrested two men suspected to be Indian hemp dealers.

Mchinji Police publicist Sergeant Gladson M’bumpha identified the two as Lyson Phiri aged 23 and Samson Sungani aged 32.

According to Sergeant M’bumpha the arrest was made in simultaneous operations conducted on May 15 2018.

“Phiri was found in possession of loose Indian hemp wrapped in black plastic bags whereas Sungani was found in possession of 30 plants of the Indian hemp in his garden.”

The two will appear in court soon to answer the charges of being found in possession of Indian hemp and cultivating Indian hemp respectively.

Lyson Phiri hails from Mpingama Village Traditional Authority Vusojere while Samson Sungama hails from Sambo Village Traditional Authority Kalumo all from Ntchisi District.
