Mzuzu City MP quits DPP

Mzuzu City Member of Parliament (MP) Leonard Njikho has announced his resignation from the ruling Democratic Progress Party (DPP).

In an interview with YFM, Njikho said he has decided to leave the party due to ‘personal reasons’.

“In 2015 I joined DPP so I have been working as a member of DPP but at the moment I have decided to withdraw my membership and this is personal,” he said.

Njikho added: “I have got no ill-feelings with DPP but I thought this is the time now that I should withdraw my membership and probably searching my next move.”

He however said that he is ready to join any other political grouping after thorough consideration.

Njikho won the parliamentary seat in 2014 after contesting as an independent candidate.
