One of the leading traditional dance groups in the country, YONECO Cultural Troupe is set to represent Malawi at the 2018 Harare International Carnival slated for October 8 – 13.

The group -which has been invited to the Zimbabwean annual festival through Malawian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Annie Kumwenda- is ready to unleash some of its dances at this year’s festival.

At the moment, the Zomba-based group boasts a collection of about 25 distinctive dances from various Malawian tribes.

Following four years of growing success, the Harare International Carnival is back with a bang; and this year it is poised to attract even more tourists from all over the globe.

The festival was introduced in April 2014, where it attracted more than 10,000 from all walks of life.

It was invented with the aim of advancing the arts, culture, and heritage of Zimbabwe; while strengthening mutual relationships with friendly countries, in addition to fostering unity amongst nations.

This year the Harare International Carnival is scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare.
