Zomba District Health Office (DHO) says it has put in place a number of measures aimed at preventing the cholera outbreak in district during this rainy season.

Speaking to YFM Online Health Promotion and Communications Officer, Arnold Mndalira said the office has procured tents and chlorine as one way of preventing cholera outbreak.

Mndalira said the office has also sent health workers to a training in Thyolo solely to get expertise on how they can manage issues of cholera.

“We are much very ready to fight cholera but it is not a war of Zomba DHO alone it needs other stakeholders and  the community at large,” said Mndalira.

He advised the general public to observe sanitation which among others include washing hands with soap before eating and after visiting the toilet.
