Police intensify search for missing boy

Police in Zomba have intensified a search for a 13-year-old boy, Dziko Salima, who went missing from his parents’ home.

Deputy Public Relations Officer for Zomba police station, Constable Patrick Maseko, said the boy, was last seen on January 22, at Satema Primary School and Zilindo village.

The boy went missing from his parent’s home on 20th January this year, after going out to play with his friends.

Since then Zomba police has been searching for the boy following receiving a complaint from the parents.

Maseko said: “So far we are still searching for the boy and as far as our investigations are under way, we have all the hopes of finding the boy.”

He further appealed to the general public to come up with any information which can lead to the whereabouts of the boy.

The boy is black in complexion and on the day he went missing, he wore a black pair of trousers with white jersey and he speaks Chichewa fluently.

He hails from Mkumunga village, Traditional Authority Mlumbe in Zomba district.

According to Constable Maseko this is the first case of such kind registered by Zomba police since last year.
